2015 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 40,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 15 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

  1. Hi, nice work on the blog!
Have you heard of Robin Coste Lewis? I’m new to her, but she just wrote Voyage of the Sable Venus where she is focusing on the black female as produced in images and poems and languages in historical myth and interpreting that within her epic poetry.

I haven’t read this epic-poetry book yet, but I’ve been hearing about it and I heard her speak and I feel kind of excited. I know you are dealing with the same topics and how the depiction of slavery, racism, sexual representation-objectification, demonization etc. is in the symbols and nursery rhymes and lullabies and popular songs of the day. She’s doing this too!

I hope you have a happy new year. Thanks for sharing your inspiring work(s).

    • Thank you! đŸ™‚

And a very Happy New Year to you, too. I have really enjoyed chatting to you over the past year.

I’ve not come across the book, but I will look it up now – it sounds amazing and right up my street. Thanks for the tip!

      • I gave you a link to a book review but I managed to find a direct link to the work online so here it is… I’m just embarking on the reading too.

I was reading your blog for about two years and only commented once back then… it took me a while to jump in. But so Thanks again! I enjoyed it too.
